Ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg

One of the two ways to get from Germany to Sweden overnight is to take the ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg. It departs Kiel daily at 18:45 and arrives in Gothenburg around 9:00 the next day. With dinner and breakfast, this is a very convenient, but not cheap way to get to Sweden. From Gothenburg you are then in just under 2 hours in Liane.

Ferry from Kiel to Oslo

The second option with overnight stay is the ferry from Kiel to Oslo. This line is operated by Color Line and departs daily at 2 pm from Kiel. After 20 hours of crossing, one arrives in Oslo in the morning and travels from there in 2¾ hours to Liane. The crossing in this cruise-like ship is quite comfortable. The rich breakfast during the trip through the Oslofjord alone is an experience.

Arrival by plane is via Gothenburg Airport. There are many daily connections, also with low-cost airlines. The prices for rental cars in Sweden are at a normal level.

Arrival by train is possible in principle. You can get to Mellerud several times a day via Gothenburg. From Mellerud there is a bus connection to Liane, which we have never tested. Basically, we would like to advise against a journey to Liane without a vehicle, as there are no shopping facilities within walking distance.
